Manejo del sable

Joaquín Vizcaíno (widowed Marquis of Pontejos) displayed considerable activity, from his beginnings as an officer in the Spanish War of Independence, later as a politician, mayor of Madrid, and founder of the Madrid Savings Bank, without forgetting his artistic inclinations and interest in lithography. The fruit of his diverse occupations is this work, which, through magnificent lithographs, describes the various positions for handling the military saber contained in the Cavalry Regulations of 1815.
In addition to the text of the aforementioned regulations, we have included some commentaries for a better understanding. We also include introductory chapters on weapons, uniforms, and manuals and regulations for the military use of the saber.
Finally, we include a reproduction of the illuminated plates from the copy in the Valle collection.
