This very little-known work, kept at the Biblioteca da Ajuda under the shelfmark 49-III-6, is found in a volume together with the unpublished Manuscrito da Espada<\/em><\/a> (also in our catalogue).<\/p>\n

It is a re-interpretation of Pacheco’s posthumous work Nueva Ciencia<\/em>. In addition to completing missing information (such as the engravings lost in the publication of that other text), the author sought a practical and eminently didactic approach, dividing the text into \u00abLessons\u00bb, each preceded by an illustrative engraving and constructively introducing new concepts, from basic theoretical geometric elements to atalhos and conclusions, including footwork. This approach makes this book one of the most interesting choices when approaching the study of Verdadeira Destreza.<\/p>\n

It is a re-interpretation of Pacheco’s posthumous work, Nueva Ciencia<\/em>.
